The Hon. Jill Hennessey MP
Minister Hennessey was elected the Member for Melbourne West’s Altona District at a by-election in 2010, and was re-elected in 2010 and 2014.
Since the election of the Andrews Labor Government in 2014, Jill has served as the Minister for Health and Minister for Ambulance Services, portfolios. She also previously held shadow ministerial roles for Public Transport, Anti-Corruption, Corrections, Crime Prevention and Women.
Before entering Parliament, Minister Hennessey had a number of occupations, including as a lawyer, community volunteer, legal adviser, Western Health and Western Region Health board member, Chair of the Victorian Working Families Council and adviser to then Premier Steve Bracks. She has a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts from Monash University, and a Masters of Public and International Law from Melbourne University.
