Professor Ian Manovel

Ian Manovel is the innovation principal director for Health and Public Service at Accenture Australia. In this role he focuses on using innovation and thought leadership to drive change in health systems, to enhance productivity and improve health outcomes for patients. With more than 20 years of experience working in healthcare and consulting, he brings skills in health analytics, coding, indicators, probability, risk stratification and clinical audit as well as experience growing new business streams by transforming bespoke services into defined products and accelerating sales volume.

Before joining Accenture, he held positions including clinician in primary and acute care, director of consulting at a UK consulting practice and Associate Director at a major health insurer. He was instrumental in delivering national casemix funding outcomes with the creation of healthcare resource groups within the Payment by Results (PbR) and NHS National Programme for IT (NPfIT) programs in the United Kingdom.

He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Monash University, a Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy from University of London and a Master of Health Management from Imperial College Business School in London. Interested in women’s issues from his work in the pharmacy industry, he volunteers his time to help organise fundraising events for Dressed for Success. He currently lives in Sydney, Australia—the perfect place to live for an avid sailor and diver.
