Why think about enterprise imaging in your hospital? A chat with Hyland’s Peter Weston
In today’s healthcare environment, medical images of the patient are captured at all corners of the hospital – not just in radiology and cardiology. This includes specialty departments such as dermatology and ophthalmology, in surgical theatres, and even on clinician smartphones in the Emergency Department.
Crucial images are often trapped in departmental silos that aren’t easily or consistently connected to core clinical systems. As a result, they often aren’t considered by physicians or imaging specialists during patient assessments, which can seriously impact the care quality they are providing. This also drives up expenses as it results in a lot of duplication of unnecessary systems.
