Dr Emily Kirkpatrick

Executive Medical Director, Calvary-Medibank Joint Venture

Dr Emily Kirkpatrick was appointed the Executive Medical Director of the Calvary-Medibank Joint Venture (CMJV) in January 2023, overseeing clinical governance, medical workforce and the innovation team.

Previously the Deputy Chief Public Health Officer and Deputy Chief Medical Officer at SA Health, Dr Kirkpatrick commenced at SA Health in the Department for Health and Wellbeing in March 2020 and led South Australia’s COVID-19 community response during the pandemic.

She was also appointed as the Executive Director of Community and Primary Care partnerships and spent two and a half years leading the COVID-19 primary care, quarantine and community COVID-19 programs and partnerships. During this time, Dr Kirkpatrick oversaw the establishment of a virtual primary care team of more than 160 personnel including doctors, nurses and allied health professionals.

In addition, she has more than a decade of experience working in primary care, public health and health advocacy, including focusing on preventative health while practising as a General Practitioner in Adelaide.
