Dr Robyn Gillies

Chief Medical Information Officer, The Royal Melbourne Hospital

Dr Robyn Gillies MB BS (Hons) FANZCA GAICD has been actively involved in digital health since commencing as a Consultant Anaesthetist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in 2001.

She was appointed as Chief Medical Information Officer in 2016, contributing to the successful transformation to paperless record at the Parkville Precinct in 2020. She currently oversees optimisation and quality improvements in the EMR which include initiatives such as improving clinical documentation, promoting and increasing the usability of patient and community practitioner portals, and the adoption of automatically shared clinical notes and results.

Dr Gillies is an active member of the Victorian CXIO network, a practicing anaesthetist, and has recently been appointed to the Steering Committee to support the privacy work for the new health information sharing system in Victoria.
