Telstra Health has upgraded its HealthNow mobile application to enable users to download and share their COVID-19 digital certificate.

The HealthNow app is just one of two apps in Australia that enables secure access to a user’s My Health Record delivered by the Australian Government, which provides an online summary of their key health records. The app enables users to find the health information and assistance they require in real time, such as medications, immunisations, allergies, and health histories, in addition to the My Health Record information of family members and friends with their permission.

Following a recent upgrade to the HealthNow app, users can now view information regarding medications and immunisation history statements, including COVID-19 vaccination status, and can download and share digital vaccination certificates displaying immunisation history via any preferred method of digital communication, such as email, through Microsoft Teams or to a digital wallet.

William Grant, Acting General Manager of Virtual Care Solutions at Telstra Health, said, “As we enter a third year of living with COVID-19, it’s important that people are able to access their personal health information, certificates and immunisation history in real-time. The latest upgrades to the HealthNow app enable its 20,000 users to not only proactively access their medical information, but to share their COVID-19 digital certificate and other proof of vaccinations through one, consolidated, secure platform.”

Through the HealthNow app, users can also easily access and share key healthcare contacts with family or friends, and can locate nearby hospitals and healthcare services simply and quickly.

“The new developments to the HealthNow app demonstrate Telstra Health’s ongoing investment in its digital health solutions, and ultimately supporting our vision of realising a connected and improved digital health experience for all,” adds William.
