CommonWell is one of the largest emerging health data exchanges in the USA. Post the 21st Century Cures Act in the US, CommonWell has grown exponentially, deploying a vendor-neutral platform that seeks to break down the technological and process barriers that inhibit effective health data exchange. The organisation is at the hub of a rapidly connected and distributed data-sharing revolution in the US, based on all providers and vendors standardising on web sharing standards such as FHIR. Today, more than 27k provider sites utilize CommonWell services, providing data for roughly 170 million unique patients at a pace of 30 million documents each week.
